Two men believed to be involved in at least three residential burglaries within Placerville and El Dorado County have been arrested, according to county sheriff's investigators and Placerville police detectives.
Jacob Goldie, 19, of Placerville was reportedly arrested July 22 during a warrant search of 21-year-old Matthew Walker's residence on Conrad Court in Placerville. Walker was arrested two days later during a traffic stop, according to sheriff's reports.
Known stolen items such as firearms and electronic equipment were found in Walker's residence, said Placerville police detective Dave Baker and two burglary cases have been cleared as a result of the arrests. Some of the stolen items have already been returned to their owners, Baker said.
Two Placerville police officers and one K-9 (Rico) assisted two sheriff's deputies and two detectives in the warrant search and the arrest of Goldie, who reportedly became combative and uncooperative, according to sheriff's reports.
Goldie was reportedly stunned three times with a Taser and bitten by the K-9 before he was successfully taken into custody.
The burglaries are still under investigation to determine weather or not Goldie and Walker are responsible for other burglaries in the area, Baker said.
As of press time yesterday. Walker was still in custody in lieu of $25,000 bail, and Goldie had been released on $45,000 bail.
